Jet Lagged
We are doing great! Just trying to recover from jet lag. I laid Ava down for a nap at 1:30pm and she would not go to sleep. So, I had to lay down with her. I woke at 5pm for crying out loud! I tried to wake Ava, but no luck. She went back to sleep on the couch where Daddy had to get some quality napping with his daughter. The napping ended at 6:44pm. Bet we don’t sleep tonight. This time adjustment is tough.
As far as Ava goes, she is adjusting amazingly well. It is crazy to think how everything in her life in one moment is gone. I know kids are resilient. But, I did not expect her to do this well.
Jack and Lauren are her other set of parents. They are a huge help. They will do anything for her. As long as Ava is willing to let them. She is still warming up to Daddy. She loves to play with him, sit next to him and even sleep beside him. But to hold her is another story. We know it is a matter of patience and time. It is just really hard on Daddy’s heart. It is so awesome to watch Chris with Ava. The hold she has on his heart went beyond his expectations. The times she has brought tears to his eyes, I can’t count. Wheww! Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it!
Did I mention how blessed we are?

Just perfect!
How sweet. I am dying here to talk to you, to see all of you, etc etc….. I am waiting patiently though. Call me when you are ready.
Just a thank you for sharing this.
My cousin’s little girl was very shy towards men too. She was told it was because only women had taken care of her at the orphanage. It was not long before she warmed up to her daddy too and let him hold and love on her. Then she was a non-stop daddy’s girl!! Glad things are going so well.
