We made it home!!!
We had the most joyous welcome home! It was a moment we will never forget. How sweet it is to see faces of friends and family after being away for 2 weeks and in a different world! I could see all of our welcome committee as we were stepping off of the plane. I was beginning to cry. But, once through the doors, the joy swept over me and stole away the tears as there were plenty of others crying tears of joy for us! We have never felt such a surrounding of love as standing in that airport. Thank you to everyone that came to be there for us. We love each one of you and it meant so much to have you there for the moment our family was united as 5!
I am typing this at 2am. In China it is 3pm. I am pushing being awake 36hours. Cool!! I just don’t feel I can sleep right now. When we got home, I unpacked the suitcases. Started the laundry. Applied lots of stain remover! Gave Ava a bath. Decided we needed to eat a little something. Midnight here. 1pm in China. All I had were a couple of chicken breasts and some frozen corn. It was perfect. We sat down at 1am to our first meal as a family of 5. Now they are all sleeping like angels. A great first night home!
Thanks to whom ever made the banners on our door and window. Also, for the pretty flowers. And Mom, the house looked great! Thank you! Oh, Vicky, the doughnuts for in the morning? Well, midnight is technically morning. They are very good! Thanks!
Stay tuned as Chris will get the video of us receiving Ava posted soon!
